As a result of our work we have created three Bulgarian breeds: two hunting – “Bulgarian Hound” and “Bulgarian Scenthound” – VI FCI group and “Bulgarian Shepherd Dog” – II FCI group. These breeds have very important qualities that make them useful for Bulgarian customs and culture.

BNFC seek and work for the recognition of the three Bulgarian breeds.

Designation of the breed: Bulgarian Hound is scent hound working on a fresh trail.

Origin: Bulgaria
Classification by FCI: Group VI, Section 1.2 – beagles with an average height.
Designation of the breed: Specialized for hunting wild boar, but may other wild furred game.

Origin: Bulgaria
Classification by FCI: Group II; Section 2 – molosoid. Subsection – 2 Mountain dogs. No trial work.
Designation of the breed: Dog accompanying flock of sheep, dog companion, dog officially.
