The Central East European Canine Union (C.C.E.E.U.) announces
the election of the new President.
Chisinau, February 7, 2026
The Central East European Canine Union (C.C.E.E.U.) is pleased to announce that, following the General Assembly held on 07.02.2026, Mr. Cristian Ștefănescu was unanimously elected as President of the Union for a 4-year term. Upon his proposal, Ms. Malgorzata Wieremeyczik Wierzchowska from Poland was also elected as Vice-President and Mr. Boyan Ivanov from Bulgaria as Secretary-Press Officer.
Also, at the proposal of Mr. Cristian Ștefanescu, Mr. Karl P. Reisinger from Austria, the mentor and founder of the organization, was elected as Honorary President of the Central Eastern European Cynological Union.
The electoral process was carried out in accordance with the organization’s statute, benefiting from the presence of delegates representing the member associations from Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Hungary and Ukraine. The election of the new president marks a new stage in the development of cynology in the Central Eastern European region, emphasizing excellence, transparency and regional and international cooperation.
Mr. Cristian Ștefănescu is a prominent figure in the cynological universe, with over thirty years of experience in judging, breeding purebred dogs, organizing national and European events and president of the Romanian Kennel Club (A.Ch.R.) for over twenty years. In his acceptance speech, the new president outlined the priorities of his mandate:
• Modernizing administrative processes within the Union;
• Strengthening partnerships with cynological associations from all F.C.I. countries;
• Promoting animal welfare standards and high-level competitions.
• Greater visibility regarding all the Union’s activities.
„It is an honor and a responsibility to take on this position. My main objective is to make the C.C.E.E.U. a pillar of stability and professionalism for all breeders and lovers of purebred dogs in Europe and the region,“ said Cristian Ștefănescu.
The Central East European Cynological Union thanks the former president, Mr. Ștefan Ștefik, for his dedication and contributions during his mandate.
